The Crisis In The Gulf

By Rev. William Duby

The Crisis In The Gulf

The article this month is about the Crisis. The first question, as a writer, is how best to approach this subject. Talking about war is like talking about God, politics, sex, love and religion. One is often persuaded to favor one side of the issue because of their emotional posture. They have been conditioned beforehand by others who have influenced their perspective. And whether their perspective is clear or not does not prevent them from spewing the 'rhetoric' gleaned from the many others who have captivated their imagination. As humans - they have adopted their 'pet beliefs' by 'hero worshipping'. Yet, I doubt few of those who have been influenced would easily admit this truth. In fact, I know that they'd vehemently oppose what I have just shared.

Few people are mobilized by the sheer weight of a common sense decency in doing whatever is possible to uproot evil and/or 'nip it in the bud'. If this weren't so then 'man's inhumanity unto man' would be on a decrease rather than the increase. It has been said, "Evil flourishes when good men do nothing." So, whether we like it or not - something must be done to extricate the soul of man to arise into the Spirituality of the Living God for the blessing and well being of the 'common man' who has the 'common sense' to be in 'common bond' with the 'Humanity Of God' which is enlivened by the grace of God for the prosperity of this nation and all nations of the world at large. Simply put, "Those that worship (adore) the Father must worship (adore) in Spirit (not the personality expression of personal opinions) and in Truth (the way which Christ exercised His mentality of a compassionate heart through the bodily life of Jesus)."

It is no secret that - "A house divided against itself cannot stand". Jesus, The Christ made this simple observation Himself. Unlike Jesus, however, man when seen as a human being has a difficult time in gaining insight from the historical records of past mistakes. He repeats them because he doesn't learn from hindsight. All learning, if worthwhile, sheds light (truth of God) upon the subject so an insightful perspective of pristine clarity can be exercised to prevent the disease of the soul (mind) and bloodshed of the body. We saw this truth of division taking place in the Civil War and the Viet Nam Conflict. These two military campaigns divided not only the country but family members. America has yet to recovered from these terrible miscalculations. The principle is the same, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

'Brother against brother' is 'bad news' regardless of race, color, creed or national origion. If the overview of the world at large and every race in specific is seeing itself as brothers of each other then war is assuredly hell. What most people don't pay attention unto when they speak of God, especially when they are identifying with Jesus Christ, is that Jesus Himself didn't see everyone as His brothers and/or family members. Anyone can say that they are brothers. I see this happening throughout the world.

The Christians, Jews and/or Muslims say that they are brothers but within their own ranks they fight and dispute. In the case of the Crisis in the Gulf - the Arab community is divided in their brotherhood. In fact, they have always been divided. Every race, color and creed of every national origin is divided except when it is in their selfish interest to take note in how advantageous it is for them to seemingly unite for self satisfaction of their personal desires.

It was Jesus who made clear the reality of the brotherhood of man and/or the family of God.

"But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." Gospel Of Matthew 12:47-50.

Jesus is saying that people because they appear to be human are not all brothers. Not in the heavenly sense of the word. Those which desire to do as Jesus was doing while embodied are His brothers, sisters and/or family members. The others may consider themselves brothers, and I suppose they are brothers in the darkest sense of the word, because they are blood brothers of this earthern sphere which are being fathered from below and not as above as described by the words attributed unto Jesus. They are playing the games of 'trick and treat' as well as 'hide and seek', doing whatever they need to do to win favor for satisfaction of the earthly appetite of being glorified by the world.

As long as people are not united by the 'Word of God' there will be division among men. Each man within each nation will desire to enforce his opinion according to the upbringing of his race, color and creed. And he will do so without regard to the 'Love of God' which is 'The Truth of God'. There is a vast difference between the 'points of view' of men versus the 'Viewpoint Of The Divine.' I tend to agree with Jesus, "people love the darkness (their points of view) more than the light (Viewpoint Of God).

Jesus did admonish the people of His day, and the same admonishment does apply to the people of this day, because they are the offspring of the ancestry which He spoke unto in His day.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. " Gospel Of Matthew, 6:23-34.

I guess the summation of the reality of God is as follows. If one doesn't believe in doing as Jesus did then he is a warmonger. He's marketing his 'point of view' rather than the 'Viewpoint Of God'. All because he isn't into the 'peace of God'. He's into the peace of man as he sees it from his body personality and not from the soul personality within himself that contains the light which sustains his presence on earth as a human. I personally believe that it is going to be awhile before the masses of humanity are going to turn inward and begin to favor the 'Viewpoint Of The Divine' over and beyond their 'point of view'. And until they do there will be wars taking place outwardly because man is at war within his own mind and his heart of conscience will tell him so.

The world community is in an uproar over the present crisis in the Gulf of Persia. Country after country is 'running to and fro' trying their utmost to find a solution which will prevent war. Yet, Saddam Hussein is the very person who has the need to prevent war. Not that others, such as George Bush, can't prevent the American Military from entering Iraq. Certainly, he can. Should President Bush back off, however, there will be no peace - no lasting peace. What will take place is an appearance of peace. And since 'looks are deceiving' - it will be only an appearance of peace. Saddam Hussein will feel that the United States is a 'paper tiger' - no different than he feels about the United Nations. The signal will be clear if George Bush doesn't back up the principle of NON-AGGRESSION towards another country - whether that country is considered a democracy or not. AGGRESSION IS AGGRESSION THAT IS AGGRESSION. Simply put - NO TRESPASSING!

The Holy Writ is replete with stories of the Middle East conflicts. It is clear that [they are 'all brothers' who are caught up with the 'Cain and Abel' story.] Still fighting war after war because they are justifying the first war that took place between the forces of good and evil in heaven.

[All wars are hell, for they are never-ending battles which represent being for or against God.] There is not a bonafide solution to the problems in the Middle East save the intervention of the Lord of Host. Not because I say so. Only because it has been predicted to be so by Holy Writ. And anyone who has argument with the Sacred Scriptures is not paying attention to the primary problem of accepting or denying the 'Chief Corner Stone' (Jesus Christ).

The Saddam Hussein theatrical events of the last few months are the self serving motivations of a dictator who has an identity crisis. His identity crisis has devolved into the Gulf Crisis because he has no peaceful aim or ambition which is truly worthy. He can say that he desires the 'Palestine Issue' to be resolved for the blessing and well being of the Palestinian people. In truth, he could care less about the Palestinian people. He feels no different about the Palestinians than the sect of 10,000 Khurds that were annihilated by poison gas. If this were not so - King Faud of Saudi Arabia wouldn't have welcomed the American and Allied forces. It is because of this that Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations have voluntarily seen fit to thwart the efforts of Saddam Hussein to envelop the neighboring nations.

King Faud is well aware that the land of Kuwait has been stormed, raped, pilliaged. Likewise, her people. Infants have been taken off of life support system, women have been raped, men have been tortured, foreigners have been held hostage and, threats of terrorism have been initiated against Israel and other countries. In all, Saddam Hussein is serving God, the God of the abyss. And whatever excuse he can use to continually abuse not only the people of his land and other lands but misuse law which helps lawful people to become obiedent and faithful towards a civilized society are scoffed at by his insane notion that he's a ruler. In truth, Saddam Hussein is not a ruler. A ruler is ruled by his love for God and that love is the truth of God which has the well being in heart for the restoration and prosperity of his people. A dictator has no love in his heart for his God, his country or his people. He only has love for power. And whenever unharnessed power is unleashed by a dictator then the people of God within every land are torn assunder.

Saddam Hussein has the desire to use the "Palestinian Issue" as an excuse to wipe Israel off the map. He knows that the Israeli people will not surrender the lands of their forefathers. Asking them to do so (like it or not), is like the American Indian asking the United States government to return America to the Indians. It is just not going to happen, whether someone from the Middle East arises and has a 'peace plan' or not. In order to make that happen an Armageddon of the highest magnitude must take place. And, if we read the statement correctly, as intended by Saddam Hussein, "the Americans will be swimming in their own blood", we will see that he is predicting that if the combined military forces of the United States and other countries do attack Iraq - it will be like an Armageddon.

I am in agreement with the somewhat clarified perspective of the President of the United States when it comes to the reason why America happens to be in the Middle East. [WE ARE IN SAUDIA ARABIA AS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.] In truth, as a Judeo-Christian country - sustained upon Biblical Principle. We may not be consciously aware of this truth Ð nevertheless Ð the 'hand of providence' has spoken. We, as the People Ð are the very People of God that must learn, the hard or easy way, like the Prophet Elias - to fight for 'The Truth' for the sake of 'The Truth'.

It is the Word of God that is vitally important to live and die for Ð if we are alive, for Christ sake. We are either on the side of sacred principle or we are not. And if it takes an Armageddon for us to 'return to sender' - namely, unto the wholesome perspective of the 'Living God' then it will be so. All because the 'Word of God' does say that it will be so. And all the crying in the world and all the peace marches in the world and all the political meetings in the world are not going to deter us from learning the great and awesome lesson. "God in is control."

[We all die one way or another. The proper way of dying is to risk dying for 'The Truth' Ð so help us God.] As Scripture does declare, "Be dead in Christ." That's the only way we can be truly alive in the world. We must be enlivened by the 'Word of God' as 'The Truth of God' if we are to experience life as Jesus knew it and/or enjoyed the reality of 'plain sight'. When we are encouraged and inspired to do so Ð we've enacted the love of God. Then, we're enlivened and life is worthwhile for our conscience is clean. We've done the best we can. The rest is up to God. Man cannot do what God can do. Nor, I might add, should he dare try for Christ sake.

If death is to come then let it be for Christ sake.
If death is to come then let it be for the sake of 'The Truth.'
If death is to come then let it be for the 'Love of God'.
If death is to come then let it be for the 'Love of Country.'
If death is to come then let it be for the 'Love of your brother and sister'.
In this light if death comes - you will assuredly not die but become ressurected by the virtues of the 'Living God.'

All citizens of the United States are but citizens of other countries. Our forefathers were of every race, color, creed, national origin and religion belief. All had 'points of view' and not all of their 'points of view' were in agreement with each other. Yet, as a people of the world they came to this land for freedom. Freedom from tryanny.

The freedom of speech is a good thing. But to use that freedom to speak in such a way to take away the freedom of another is misuse of liberty. We, 'The People' - need to begin realizing we're all in this world as the humanity. The Kuwaiti people as well as the American people and every other people. Our race, color, creed, national origin, religious beliefs and political convictions may different. Mother Nature, however, the 'Holy Wife' of the 'Father God' - produced us all as Her greatest miracle. And accordingly, She, 'Mother Nature' is desiring most of all to teach us the learning lesson of - PRINCIPLE! Namely, Her Husband's Principles. And as physical children of this earth and psychical children of the sky - we have the spiritual responsibility to mature in the light of the truth. If not, well not, it is our own demise. For, I doubt - 'Man's inhumanity unto man' will not cease until he becomes unified within himself and/or sees at the level of conscience where the law of his own being is stationed for practical application of spiritual principles. Freedom is everything that is worthwile. And we cannot be free until we are united within and without by a compassionate heart. Only then can we be a prosperous nation of prosperous people.

Here's the reason we are in the Middle East: we are there as Sacred principle Ð whether we choose to agree with that principle or not.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel. Ü EPH 6:12-17.

The United States of America Ð under the auspices of playing 'big brother' throughout the World at large, and in the Middle East in specific, whether it likes it or not, has the lot and duty to exercise itself as the MILITARY POLICE. It is the ONLY SUPER-POWER which has the capability to do so. And since the MIDDLE EAST is like a POWDER KEG - it has no choice but to do so. Otherwise, the United States will see for certain a stock pile of nuclear weapons like the world can't afford to witness. America is the GOD-SEND for the multitude of countries within the world. Without America as 'Big Brother' Ð that which is called 'Our Father' would have a barren earth. It would look like the Moon. Not only does every individualization of God, as people of the earth, have a calling but every nation as well.

The calling of America, as far as God is concerned, is the MILITARY POLICE OF THE WORLD. This is why America is akin with Jesus. Like Jesus Ð America is the most loved and hated country that has ever existed in the world. It has an awesome responsibility to behold and respect the American Spirit and/or the Holy Spirit of Almighty God. And until the American conscience arises in consciousness to clearly see the place and purpose of itself as a nation of law and a lawful nation of people Ð there is going to be hell to pay.

We are not in Saudia Arabia because of oil. Whosoever thinks that this is the primary reason is playing the part of a fool. The Gulf Crisis is not an oil crisis. It is a crisis of standing up for principle - sacred principle.

Saudia Arabia (and other nations) has increased oil production to offset dependency on oil from Iraq and Kuwait. So, oil is not the main issue. And I suppose that the spiritually ignorant can make an argument that the reason is oil. Yet, in truth, it is not. Iraq could not possibly hold the world economy in hostage because she dispenses 15-25 per cent of the world's oil supply. It is foolish to think otherwise.

Saddam Hussein has a 95 billion dollar debt as a result of fighting an eight (8) year war with Iran. Besides, since her latest excursion into Kuwait the other Arab nations are not going to truly trust doing business with Saddam. Only a small handful of misguided folks such as Yassir Arafrat, King Hussein, Omar Khadafy, and alike would dare support him. They have no choice for they are dependent upon him for their personal endeavors of overthrowing Israel. The President of the United States, the Russian Premier and other leaders throughout the world are busy trying to get along with each other. All are saying things which are breeding hope for a better future in relationship with each other.

Mikhail Gorbachev: He speaks about a NEW THINKING. George Bush: He speaks about A THOUSAND POINTS OF LIGHT¹ A NEW WORLD ORDER.

If these things are going to come to pass, and I'm certain they will before or after an Armageddon Ð it will be because the nations of the earth and the people therein are ready, willing and able to put aside their personal 'points of view' and take upon themselves the united 'Viewpoint' of the Divine which has Providence above and beyond our own.

These leaders, George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev, are doing their utmost to thwart the efforts of 'major and minor' dictators from overthrowing what could be considered 'heaven on earth' or 'a thousand years of peace'. Now whether they can attain that or not (and I doubt it) depends upon the people of the world standing up for the light of the truth. What we see happening in the Middle East is biblical prophecy coming true. The same spirit which lived in Alexander 'The Great', Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler is desiring to bring forth another (false) light bearer. I doubt whether Saddam Hussein is a Hitler. I do see, however, he's just a pawn that the 'spirit of hell' is using to 'test the waters'. The hatred that Saddam Hussein has for Israel is going to be his downfall. And this is true whether or not he decides to allow war to take place in his country.

If the Arab nations could co-exist with each other, it would be because they are forgiving towards each other. This would be an act of Almighty God. Yet, they (Arabs and Israelites) cannot be (at peace) as long as they are diametrically opposed in religious beliefs. Personally, I believe that Israel can be at peace with many of the Arab nations. I do not believe, however, that many of the Arab nations can be at peace with Israel as long as the Israelites are living in the West Bank or Gaza Strip. A 'Mexican stand off' is the best that can happen. And I suspect that the 'powers of hell' will find an excuse for the 'Arab-Israeli' conflict to continue unless an act of God does take place.

As Americans Ð we are citizens of this world and the world to come. All because the 'Living God' has chosen to see fit that we are 'His Ambassadors' of 'Good Will'. I believe that the President of the United States has done all he can do in this crisis. He's not God but I'm confident that he has taken to heart his own religious upbringing as well as his life experience as a U.S. Congressman, U.S. Vice President, Head of the CIA, and U.S. Ambassador to China.

I've heard Geroge Bush say, "All we can do now is pray to God." I've heard the Secretary General of the United Nations say something similar, "Only God knows what will happen." I remember when George Bush was running for the Presidency of the United States. At that time I predicted he would be the next President. And my reasoning was the symbolic representation of a picture of 'Abraham Lincoln' that I saw in my mind. He reminded myself of that type of an individual. One who is loved and hated. I heard later in a speech given by him that he identified with Abraham Lincoln. I thought to myself, "how ironic."

I remember when the candidates for the Presidency thought of George Bush as a wimp. In fact, many of the newspaper reporters capitalized on that image. He was considered a wimp by many people. Yet, when he came down on Manuel Noriega of Panama and set that country free of a dictator Ð his image changed from a wimp to a hawk. I was amused.

Now, I see George Bush as a man with a mission. He's just as convicted by his intellectual, philosophical and moralistic beliefs as any other man. I do not believe that George Bush is God but I believe that [God is just as much in George Bush as in you and I.] And like us Ð he can make a mistake. But Ð [I doubt very much that God within George Bush has mistaken the use He has for George Bush.]

It is my contention that neither George Bush or Saddam Hussein are acting on their own accord. In fact, I do not believe that anyone is acting upon their own accord. All are being directed by the forces of darkness, forces of light and/or a combination of both depending upon where they are at in their personal relationship to the God of their heart. If I were to guess which one of the two, George Bush or Saddam Hussein, was a 'God fearing man', I'd have to choose George Bush over and beyond Saddam Hussein. With that in mind, I personally feel that George Bush has no choice whatsoever but stand up for the truth as he has been privileged by the God of his heart to know it and fight for that truth.

If Saddam Hussein misreads the heart of George Bush Ð then what we know as Iraq will be annihilated by Military might to prevent the possibility of a world wide nuclear disaster. I say this because I believe George Bush is a 'man of peace' until the 'principles of God and his love for the United States/Israel come into play.' Then, like General MacArthur Ð he will give them hell to prevent hell from running rampant upon the face of the earth.

We may agree or disagree with George Bush - in part and/or in whole. Nevertheless, he's President Of The United States Of America. He's sworn to uphold the Constitution Of The United States. And the '10 Bill of Rights, which by the way, are but an overlay of the '10 Commandments of God'. So, if we think clearly - George Bush has been elected President. We've elected him President either by vote or failure to vote. Now that he's in power for the next two years, like it or not, he's the President Of The United States. He's the leader of America. He's the leader of the free world. He's amassed the nations of the world for this historical moment. He's not done it alone. Yet, he's done it. Could you or I?

We, The People, are being led by him because he's the elected offical. It is too late to disagree with him. We can make the argument that we disagree. But, in truth, we've agreed by the sheer weight of law. And, believe it or not, like it or not, the United States is a land of laws and not a land of people. So, with that in mind - think clearly now - George Bush is the President, George Bush has the backing of Congress and the Senate. And it doesn't matter if he's got the backing as a large or small majority. The power to make war and/or prevent war is in his hands. There is no one in the entire world that can stop George Bush from doing what his heartfelt conviction has come to dictate unto his mind to behold. To think otherwise is not only foolish but stupid.

All the marches aren't going to change the mind of "President George Bush". He's a convicted man. All the debates in the world aren't going to change the mind of "President George Bush". He's a convicted man. The only man on this entire earth that can change the mind of "President George Bush" is SADDAM HUSSEIN. They are both convicted men. It is their pinciples which are at war.

Now - PAY ATTENTION - the only thing we can do is exercise faith. That's precisely the learning lesson - FAITH! Realize - when you discover you have cancer - you can decide which doctor will cut you open. But the doctor you choose will be your choice and then you will have to have faith in your doctor. The same holds true with your God, your Country and your elected officials. All because you need to learn to apply faith. Did not Jesus say, "it is your faith that makes you whole." Well, now! Can't you think of a better time to apply it?

This is my prediction of conviction regarding the Crisis in the Gulf. The rest is open to conjecture. As far as I am concerned, the next move belongs exclusively to SADDAM HUSSEIN. He's the man of the hour! I pray to God that he listens to God, the LIVING GOD OF US ALL. But, then again, I've been praying that happens to us all for years.

Rev. Bill
